I use Photoshop 6.0.1 extensively in X's classic mode (10.2.6, on a 700MHz Combo drive eMac). Occasionally, while in PS, everything in Classic will stall. The cursor can move, and I can switch to X-native apps. Usually, Classic will unfreeze after 20-60 seconds and function as normal, until the next time. I haven't noticed a pattern of any sort, or any one thing that triggers a freeze.
Sometimes, though, it won't unfreeze and I'll have to force-quit Classic. Very occasionally, the whole system freezes up and I need to reset the machine. I've done RAM tests with Apple's Diagnostic CD and Newer's Guage Pro and they come up clean. This only happens while in Photoshop 6; I use Illustrator 9.0.2 as well without any problems. PS6 works fine while booted into OS 9.
