Kyle, Actually when I went to pick it up after the first PAV board and tested it on the customer counter the monitor went lighter and lighter and lighter right before the tech and myself. So maybe it was a rookie and he didn't check the switch as you said.
Would it be possible to enlighten me on this switch you mentioned (off the list of course), with a PDF tech sheet or something? maxtek Date: Tue, 24 Jun 2003 22:43:29 -0400 Subject: Re: iMac CRT oddities From: Kyle Hansen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> On 6/24/03 9:07 PM, "maxtek" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Spew into the Cybertrough: > The Apple Certified Repair Shop in my area diagnosed it has having a bad > P.A.V. board (Power Analog Video). Lucky it was still under AppleCare (exp. > this past Feb). That's a new one on me, and I replace these on a daily basis. There are 2 CRT types: HH and LG. If the tech was a rookie and ordered the wrong PAV board (or ordered the right one and forgot to check the switch setting) you can have it fail, but it won't blow the CRT. > I have an iMac DV (firewire/dvd) with a CRT that loves to act up. That looks like the PAV board to me. Do you ever have it turn off by itself, or fail to turn on? -- Kyle H.
