While the re-boot may need intervention, I would expect that there is a way
of running the updater in 'unattended' mode.
Although it is not an exact parallel I have found that virtually all PC bios
updaters have (sometimes undocumented) command line switches to skip all the
user prompts, I would have thought that Apple would have something similar.

NB another way round this would be a 'Cheat Sheet' giving details of what to
press and when, for those who cannot see the screen.
