I have a Rev B and wanted to max it out a long
while back also, so I read everything about it in
this List and anywhere else I could find. It
appears that some machines read the whole amount
and some do not. No rhyme or reason for the
discrepancy. I am assuming that the Rev A and Rev
B behave similarly in this matter.

I actually have two 256MB sticks sitting in a box
in front of me waiting to go in. It's been a
looong time, and I still haven't gotten around to
cracking the case to install them. So it doesn't
really answer your question; sorry.

Hi all,

I'm new to this list so I apologize if this has
been covered before.

My sister-in-law has a Rev A iMac. I installed a
128 MB RAM stick in the
upper slot a few years ago. Now I would like to
max it out. Some vendors
(DMS, OWC, etc) sell 256 MB low profile sticks
they say will work in the
lower slot of all iMacs. Other vendors say the
maximum for the Rev A is 128
MB in the lower slot.

Has anyone on this list actually installed 512 MB
of ram in a Rev A iMac?
