Oops!  OK, well I just discovered that the cd needs to be pushed down into
the tray.

We have a launch.  System CD has booted.  :)  I am now restoring the hard
drive in case it was corrupted in some way.  I just happen to have an IMAC
Service Source Restore CD.

Have rebooted with Hard Drive as Start Up Disk.  Dang, goes back to the
flashing folder.  But I am now able to simply load the cd and it will boot
from that.  Also am able to see contents of hard drive.  All appears to be
there.  Drive has OS 8.1 installed.  There appears to be 64 MB of ram.

Key question:  What jumper setting should this sole hard drive be using in
an IMAC of early era?  This could be the problem...
