Neither. It's most likely a dead AV board. Open it up. Take ALL the plastic off. Take off the tin shield over the CRT. Look at the screen. The board on the left side of the machine is the AV board. There's a company in Eugene, OR that repairs 'em for $130. Google Microdoc. Else you can try your luck on ebay. Apple also sells them. About $175 IIRC.
