Hi, about two months ago i had a similar problem with a se/30 mac, turn on, happy face etc. then suddently froze, since i have several classic classic macs, i started to experiment, changeing the hard drive did the trick, i now those drives are inexpensive (500 Mb.) and i had several, so : thats my two cents of advice, hope is something else less radical.
