Mail??

iMac 333 upgraded to 500 G3, 40 G HD, etc. Yesterday I tried to help 
get my wife's email by putting in another 'mailbox' in my Mail program. 
I got her email, then tried to delete that new mailbox, and in the 
process (apparently) threw away all the my letters. I THINK they may 
still be there in Uses/Library/Mail, but I can't get them back up. Any 
ideas?
