I have just decided to sell my iMac 400DV and have therefore
configured the RAM to suit, and I have found that a PC100-222
DIMM causes crashes.

I know that some CL2 RAM isn't liked by some Macs, especially
after firmware updates, but this RAM is recognised, but I feel
99% it is this which is causing crashes.

I have one 128MB PC100-322 DIMM and when the fouling 32MB
DIMM is installed I have crashes, but now to my question:

The minimum spec for the RAM is PC100, but at the moment
I am running the iMac with a PC66, or as System profiler is
reporting "PC66100-333S".

How come it works, is recognised and (seemingly) does not crash
the machine ???

I just want to feel sure that the person who's bought the Mac
isn't going to have problems with it as I am not interested in some
ongoing support thing...

Grateful for a little help.

P.S. I am fairly in the clear about PC100 and CL2/3 so ne massive
explaination required. :o)

Laurence
