I posted this on the Apple discussion list aswell:
For my birthday I got a AOpen EHW-5224U CD-R/W that uses USB 2.0. The manual says it goes with OS 9x, so it took a while before I understood that my iMac DV does not work with USB 2.0.
Is there any way that I can use this CD-R/W, or should I better try to return it to the store?

If the drive itself is supported by Mac OS and the apps you plan to use it will work with USB!

But at the slower speed of USB 1.1. USB 2.0 is backwards compatible.
