Yes. It can also respond to requests for files, printing, and so forth from your other machines, if you have them.

Hmm, on my FP iMac running 10.2.6, I don't have an option labeled "System Sleep" in the Energy Saver control panel. However, I do have "Wake for network administrator access" under the Options tab. If that is checked, it SUPPOSEDLY allows the chron jobs to be run. I know that SOMETHING wakes my iMac up during the night since I've come out and found it awake at times.
If you manually select "Sleep" from the Apple Menu, what is actually set to sleep mode besides the display and the fan?
