Yes I can burn DVD's but can I burn them onto DVD-Rewritable media. It doesn't seem to recognize a Re-writable disc I bought. When I look at system info it says its a "DVD-RW DVR 104" so I thought it would be a drive which supports Rewritable DVD media.

Did you buy DVD-RW or DVD+RW? "As far as I know," Macs only use DVD dash R and
DVD dash RW.
