It seems that this software is for demagnetizing the processor, not the
monitor. I have never heard of demagnetizing a computer's processor. Seems
a little suspicious to me. I couldn't find any information on PowerLED
anywhere online other than that link you posted. The URL in the program's
documentation no longer works.

But, I like to live dangerously, so I installed the software. (On my UMAX
S900, 250MHz 604e, wouldn't risk it on my girlfriend's iMac.) It's an
extension, control panel, and application.

Running the "demagnetizing" feature was interesting. It scrambled the
graphics on the screen a few times and made a high pitched noise through the
speakers that had me scrambling for the volume knob, with strange status
messages in between, something about "epibration". Google search for
epibration turned up nothing relevant.

When it was done, it said that the static electricity had been removed from
my processor. What? I thought it was going to demagnetize it!

No noticeable difference in the shape or color of my screen display, or the
speed of my processor (which the program reported as 0 MHz, BTW.)

My guess is that this software does nothing but lubricate your computer's
inner workings with a healthy dose of snake oil.
