I work for a school district and saved 4 iMacs from certain death or eternal
storage. I put them in my "PC" lab. I am actually the PC lab tech and
supervisor among other things. Anyway, I loaded OS 9 and made sure they had
the firmware update. Every time I try and run the setup wizard that load
right after they finish installing 9 and restart it locks up. The lady that
used to care for the Macs quit and I don't know where her CD's are so I
don't have a bootable OS 9 CD so I had to install 8.5 then install OS 9 over
it. Or under it, however Macs work. I also tried booting with the USB
keyboard and mouse unplugged. This didn't work either. They seems to operate
fine as long as I don't run the wizard. Has anyone encountered this problem
before? here are the specs:
G3 333MHz 160MB RAM 6GB HD OS 9
I am also going to try the 9.1 and then 9.2 updates.
Thanks,
Mike PC Lab supervisor @ AAHS School District #20 Colorado Springs, CO
