This may be nitpicking, but....

When I switch between users with fast user switching enabled in Panther, I don't see the rotating cube. Is that because I'm using a G3 iMac, or did
I forget to do something?

The spinning cube effect requires a Quartz Extreme capable graphics card (Radeon or GeForce) to render the two screens on a 3D cube (as it used OpenGL and all). The Rage Pro and Rage 128 chipsets in the G3 iMacs are not able to do this.

It happens SO quickly, however, I really don't want to complain. I'm just
inquiring.

It's probably faster without the cube effect.
