Hi,
yesterday i received my beautiful 17" IMac. Everything fie with initial
installation.
Then, I tried to install some OSX additional features from the OS DVD,
and i got several messages, then I got the Kernel Panic screen (see pic
in http://www.macmaps.com/kernelpanic.html). Now I start the computer
and nothing happens, I can just hear the CPU fan but the screen is
completely black.

Anyone knows what can I do to fix it?

When did you order your iMac? If it's new (ordered before October 8th) you are entitled to a free copy of 10.3 Panther. If I were you I'd ring up Apple and say 'Number 1 I want a Copy of 10.3' and 'Number 2 my iMac is playing up'.

Other than that is sounds like it's suffering from 10.2.8 syndrome...
