I am doing some slide scans on a PC and saving all the resulting Tif images
via the scanning software on this PC, onto CD's. However, when I brought
the CD's home to do Photoshop work on them on my mac (500 mhz slot loading
iMac) I was unable to view the images. I tried opening them in PS 7,
Photoshop Elements and even preview. I kept getting end of file and no image
errors even though I had no trouble viewing them on the PC.

Sounds like a resource fork problem, or that the data fork has become corrupted in the CD burn/transfer.

I have experienced this with a corrupted DVD burn.

I thought Tiff and Jpeg images were supposed to be readable in
either PC's or Macs ?

They are. ---
The scanner is a Nikon 200 scanner. Can't recall the exact model number.

Irrelevant. --- I suggest burning a new CD...
