I have noticed that the IDE plug on the iMac motherboard and CD
is different to that of a standard IDE, and have also been told that
this is to accomodate the audio functions from the CD-ROM.

My question:

Is it possible to use the CD (CD-RW in this case) with a normal
IDE plug/cable ? Should one just plug it in off centre or ?!?

Larry
