Seems to me that when I was researching a new hard drive for my father-in-laws Quicksilver, I read that cable select was only supported on Macs since the MDD G4s. If I'm remembering correctly then, cable select wouldn't be an option on a Cherry iMac, so I'd go with master on the Seagate. What was the original hard drive in it set to? This would probably be the best answer.
