Go to the iTunes prferences and check your burning settings. Make sure it is set to audio CD. Are there more than 17 songs on it? That would be a clue that you have a CD with MP3's on it. MP3's r a lot smaller so you can fit a lot of them on a CD. You can sometimes get 20 songs on a CD in AIFF if some are short, but usually no more than that. Most newer DVD players will play MP3's.

Also if you burned them as AIFF try lowering the burn speed to 4x or 2x speed, some older CD players have problems with reading burned CD-Rs at higher speeds, but there are also (older) CD players which cannot read burned CD-Rs at all...
