Kathy, which Blueberry model is it? The hard drive has probably been
spinning around for the last 4 or 5 years and may just be wearing out. Do
you know someone who is a techie. I've always figured that once the
warrantee is out on a machine it means the owner can now open it up and see
what's inside the box. If one is comfortable opening a computer up it is
not that hard to replace the hard drive. I did a tray load CD iMac-233 last
spring which was a bit of a puzzle to change but there are resources on the
internet with photos and direction to do the swap. This weekend I picked up
a used slot load iMac-350 and swapped the hard drive in it. It was a much
easier exchange. I put in some more memory and have a brand new four and a
half year old iMac that is happily running OS 9 and 10. I hope you can make
yours work also.
