Personally, I think that's going a bit too far.


For example, Apple sends its promotional mail as HTML. I actually WANT that mail (maybe I'm unique in this, but ...)

Many people who use AOL Mail or Outlook Express are sending HTML mail completely without being aware of it -- it's often called cute things like "stationary" instead of what it really is.

I'm told that the new version of AOL (for PCs only so far, thank goodness) gives you NO OTHER OPTION but to send HTML mail. What an abomination!!

Consequently, I think automatically deleting ALL html mail is a mistake that could come back to haunt you greatly someday -- and even if it doesn't now, sadly it looks like the unwitting use of HTML will only increase in the future.
