Has there ever been so much speculation before the software was actually in people's hands......???

Anyway, GB appears not to be a Soundtrack-lite, but actually an app that has a different purpose and does things that are not possible in Soundtrack.....

GB is not able to work with video as Soundtrack is designed to do.....but GB can record live instruments.....I plan to plug my Gibson 335 into my Mac to laydown tracks in a created band.....what is it 10 or 15 virtual amps....??....not possible in Soundtrack....

Anyway, I'll know more on Friday....or whenever....

Aint it fun?

Bob

However, I *have* used Soundtrack, which is a more "pro" app but does much the same thing as Garageband. It's a really sweet app, both for generating music-that-doesn't-suck and for doing basic multi-track recording/editing. Garageband has a few "pro" shortcomings but should be adequate for a lot of uses.
