Hi! I'm Sunil, and I've used macs since 1988 or so. However, I'm an iMac
n00b, having bought my first one yesterday for $75. It's a blue-green
iMac with a tray-loading CD-ROM, and 96 MB RAM (said the previous owner).
How can I determine other technical aspects of my new machine?

If it's running use the Apple System Profiler under OS9 or earlier, or System Profiler under OS X. It will tell you such things as the amount of RAM, size of HD, etc.. For just general information check out MacTracker at http://www.mactracker.ca/
