When you start up with extensions "on" what happens exactly? Any error messages or does the iMac just stop responding?
Try booting the iMac while depressing the space bar. This will invoke the Extensions Manager control panel, allowing you to turn off/on extensions before they load. Try booting with the Base Set and see if this gets you anywhere.

I got it running with the extensions on yesterday once. Started file sharing
and got the Disk Repair on the HD from old faithful 6100. Used disk repair.
It stated the HD wrapper was damaged, and for me to reformat the HD. I'd
love to, but I can't get a startup disk image onto the HD now or start from
the 6100's CD-ROM over the network. ARGH!
Your suggestions will be very welcome.
