Just was given a iMac (M5521) 400mz 64MB 10GB DVD unit# SG9410TEGGE Has OS 8.6
It starts to boot then stalls about half way through. I'm really not familiar with the earlier Mac OS system but if I depress the space bar while booting a menu with a list of settings appears. All the boxes on the left are checked. Have tried to put a CD into the DVD player but it will not except it.
What I would like to do is install Yellow Dog Linux on the unit. Any suggestions on how I can get the unit to boot and insert my Linux boot disk would be greatly appreciated.
