I am trying to send plain text-only files in Word (from my eMac), and have found that it works if I translate my file to Text first, and then choose Save As Word. When I discovered this it was a breakthrough, as it means I don't have to buy Word for the Mac.

However, some of my clients tell me they can't open the files on their PCs.

I have tested my method here (where I also have a PC on a different internet connection) and it works just fine - the attachments show up iconised (if that's the word!!) as Word and open normally.

What am I, or my clients, doing wrong??
