Having read the description, I have no doubt that the update is recommended for users of Airport enabled computers. It says so.

I have installed it on 2 Pismo 500s, can't say it did much for my graphite airports range 50 feet and it dies, but as the above link says any airport equipped mac. Not exactly clearly stated that's it's OK to use on any Base Station made by Apple.
