You've got my sympathy, as I have had intermittent problems printing on my Canon i470D. How is your iMac connected to the printer? My most recent printing frustration was finally relieved after I plugged & replugged the USB connection between the printer and my Airport Extreme Base Station. If the printer is plugged into a USB hub, perhaps connecting directly to the USB ports on the iMac would help, at least in reducing the variables you're dealing with.
Oh, did you do a clean install of 10.3.3, or did you do the (I believe default) system update from 10.2.6? If you simply "updated", you may find the clean install would be worth it.

Hi,
My flat panel iMac has developed a problem in the past few days. I have
separate accounts set up on my iMac for myself, my wife, and each of my two
children. Today we noticed that I am the only user who can print anything.
