It is best to read the license terms for the family pack.  It is good for up
to five non-business Macs in one home.  That excludes use for profit and it
excludes populating Macs in separate houses.

Using the family pack raises another problem.  With one set of original
media, when you dispose of one of the Macs that you sell or give away, you
would have to remove the version of the OS that belongs to the pack.

I think you are better off getting a separate copy of Panther for the other
family member out of state.  Then that member's machine has its own CDs for
troubleshooting and restoring.
