I bought a new computer with the 2004iLife app's installed. It doesn't =
have garageband. Is there anyway to get garageband without purchasing all =
of iLife?
You got iMovie, iTunes and iDVD because you bought a new consumer iMac. If you want Garageband, you'll need to buy iLife -- which will set you back all of $49.
It is my sincere belief that Garageband is worth at least five times if not ten times the entire purchase price of iLife, and frankly people should be sending love letters to Apple for pricing this complete package so attractively. I've heard some people whine about "I only want iPhoto" or what have you and *resent* paying $49 for quality software (of which each individual component of iLife certainly qualifies), which I find nothing short of shocking. If iLife were more realistically priced at around $499, I think there could be a case made that Garageband should be available separately, but at $49? Sheesh.
