I certainly won't doubt the value of Garageband, except I've just wasted =
$79 on software I cannot even load thanks to Apple starting to sound =
like the Wintel Cartel ... "You need faster processors (Intel) with more =
RAM (DEC), Huge Hard drives to run our software (MS blotusware)".
The actual app is 19MB in size. You have PLENTY of other apps that are larger than this.
PS. Hey kids, this here's a clue -- if you're going to hold on to your machine for a while, it's TIME TO BUY AN EXTERNAL FW DRIVE. Not only is it incredibly handy for backup, allowing you to quickly work in your own environment on other people's Macs, but you can carry it to a friend who has a Super or Combo Drive and install the multimedia stuff that is going to (as time goes on) increasingly be coming on DVD rather than CD. Sure is easier than lugging your entire computer!
