I've had my 1ghz eMac since Christmas.

Maybe it's just because my old PC fan was louder, but I really don't notice it that much. Yeah, it's there, and I hear it, but it's not really that much of a problem. I don't think I ever had to raise my voice above the noise.

Maybe your fan is off balance or making contact with the inside of the case?

Anyone have the new eMac 1.25 Ghz? How is the level of fan noise?

It's kind of loud, but not really noticeable to me until I turn it off. Then, the comparable quiet is noticeable. I wish I could detect how many decibels the sound was. It's hard to describe "loudness" when people have different standards of loud.

If the noise causes you to raise your voice during a normal conversation,
you're at about 80 decibels. For sustained noise above 85 Db, OSHA
says you should wear hearing protection.
