Hi all,

Thank you for all your responses. I have finally figured out the problem.
The unit has no ON/OFF switch, so it apparently goes into a "sleep" mode for some
reason, if you leave it hooked up. All I have to do is unplug the usb cable from the
back of it, and reinsert it. Then it will mount disks. However, it doesn't work with
older disks, as someone mentioned, such as the 800K ones. Once, i thought it had froze
my system, but it turns out it just takes a little while for it to recognize an
uninitialized disk and ask you to format it... Now, if I can just figure out why
CompuServe can't render web pages properly, I'll be all set.

anyway, thanks again all.
