That's correct. The new WiMP 9 codec is incompatible with WiMP 7 (and 
OS 9 for that matter).
Kinda like Intel Indeo codecs in reverse, they don't work in OS X 
Quicktime - very annoying!

Nope.
Well if Doug gets started on reverse engineering them, I'll build a 
500ft wall around his house to keep the lawyers out, but I don't know 
how long it'll hold back the tide ;-)

Sorry. I think your options are as follows:
1. See if the stream will play in the latest version of WiMP for OS X.
Great, but he's not using OS X.
2. See if the stream will play in the latest version of VLC (OS X 
only).
Hard, he's still not using OS X...
3. Watch it on a friend's PC.
Buy a $50 PC and throw Windows 2000 Service Pack 5 (or is it up to 6 
now??) and WMP 9 on it. That ought to play it back just fine :-)
