Yes, in fact you do. There is a seal on the CD or DVD that quite clearly states, in plain English, that by opening and using the software you agree to terms of its license. The fact that you don't bother to read the license matters not a whit.
Does this mean I have entered into a contract with the seller of the product. I think not.
You think wrong. You did, in every legally-binding sense of the term, enter into an agreement with the seller and/or maker. I'm snipping the related nonsense, because it doesn't hold a drop of water legally. Ask a lawyer -- your *interpretation* of the law simply doesn't matter, any more than my "choosing" to ignore red lights if there's nobody around makes running one "legal."
The whole system of licensing is based on wrong principles.
That's an entirely different, but quite worthwhile, discussion.
