Dear LEMListers & ListOwner,

I am, to say the least, disappointed with the replies I have received from
members of this group to the last several queries I have made here. Each time
I have tried to give enough specific detail of the problem -as much as I was
able to understand the problem- along with the specifiecs of my computer and
its operating system, so that a reasonable solution might be formulated.

What I have recieved instead are either glib replies or ones that don't
directly address the problem.

I have always been told that the only stupid question is the unasked one.
Perhaps I do not understand exactly what this group is for, but it seems to me
as I read the name of it that I am not asking anything really off-topic. So I
question whether I should continue to subscribe to LEM...

Suffice it to say that I am not a computer whiz when it comes to the subject
of what makes my iMac work internally so I am unable to contribute very often
to LEM, but I get along with my iMac most of the time. However when something
happens that I don't understand how to fix, and I am unable to locate a
solution on any internet sites' FAQs (I do make an effort first), I turn to LEM for
assistance.

Mind you, please, that this message is not intended as any manner of attack
on LEM members or even as 'sour-grapes', but if no reasonable solutions are to
be presented to my questions perhaps the listowner would take a moment to
advise me if it is worth it for me to remain subscribed to this grooup or not.

Discouragedly,

Paul Mitchell

As a footnote to all the above, I was eventually able to free up some HD
memory by archiving some of the larger files onto a number of Imation SuperDisks.
BUT -I have still not figured out how to purge all those filles that were
saved to Norton FileSaver waiting to be restored, which was the thrust of the
original question that I posted. -wpm
