I have to say, based on experience, this is completely wrong. TCO for Mac
products is top dollar, no matter how you try to rationalize it. It also is
a
reduction of basic choice. On the PC side you have choices. Windows or
Linux or Unix. Apple makes the most elegent, sleek, and personal systems
on the planet, no doubt about it, but you are paying for it, and it means
you are
stuck. That and the higher cost in general of Apple is the exact same road
that Sun is now struggling back from as we speak.

But more on topic, skimming and not paying for those extra installations
means
that somewhere down the road, Apple will not be able to afford to put those
"extra" finishing touches on you next OS upgrade. Plain and simple, when you
pay
for all your installations, you are investing in the quality of the next
generation of
software from that company.

Of course if you want to cut thru all the collective crap about "it isnt
hurting anyone"
you could just apply the Golden Rule, about doing unto others.. :) I bet you
liked to
be paid whenever you work.
