Scare that iMac...I use coaxing and then, like the very old days of tube hi-fi gear and turntables, I gently lift the front end of the iMac, at the two lower corners and let it down with a bit of a clunk..this often shakes things up enough for the cd to work again... :] also, have you tried a can of air to blow out dust, ants, animal hair, crumbs, etc?
