Then I plugged the same FW HD to the Powerbook and dragged them into the same Music > iTunes > iTunes folder, but when I opened iTunes, the songs didn't show up in my iTunes Library. Out of frustration, I dragged the same folders from the FW HD right onto the open iTunes window with the Library showing, and all 460 items began to fill in! They work!

There is a file, "~/Music/iTunes/iTunes 4 Music Library" that you needed to have copied as well, that file is like the database that iTunes uses to know what music it has in its library, where the files are etc...

I copied that file from my iMac to my iBook, but didn't copy all the new songs (was updating the iBook library and forgot some) and you get a little circle icon with an "!" in it when iTunes finds an entry for a song in the library, but no actual song was found at the specified location. At least it tells me which ones I still need to copy. :-)
