Chris,

I took your advice and have a perfectly working keyboard now THANK YOU VERY
MUCH.

What I actually did was: Fill the kitchen sink up with warm water and plop
in the keyboard and let it soak for approx. 45-60 minutes. I than used the
the faucet sprayer held close to the offending area and blasted away for a
couple minutes. I than let it drain and finally let it sit in my window sill
drying for 3 days.

After all that I plugged it in and it was perfect.

Yes, as well as alcohol, and just plain soap and water. Usually, I first
try a contact cleaner spray. If that doesn't help (which generally, if
more than one key is doing it, I've found it doesn't help), then I'll
open the keyboard, examine it for residue, and then clean with either a
contact cleaner or alcohol.

I've also been known to just hold a keyboard under a running water tap,
rinse, shake dry lightly, and then leave to air dry fully. But usually
when I do that, its because something was just spilled into the keyboard
and it still stands a chance of being rinsed out before it dries.

Yes, although it need not be coke. Could be paper clips or staples, or
some other conductive liquid that has dried into it. Could also just be a
bad keyboard.
