However, I have just had an odd experience with an older iMac. This iMac originally came with a short keyboard which had a power button on the keyboard. But then I used it for a long time with a newer Apple keyboard which has no power on button on the keyboard. For that situation, I powered the iMac up using the power on button to the right of the CD tray loader.
Hi Jim-
Thanks for your thoughts on this. I have only the keyboard with the power button.
On some of my older macs, when doing processor upgrades or adding RAM, we would hit the CUDA button before powering up. Does this machine, 333 MHz, revision A (my grandaughter's machine) have a CUDA or "reset" button. It looks like there is something on the MB next to where the Firewire card's 2 4-pin connectors are? I was uncertain if this is a reset button, and pushing it would destroy the upgrade process. But the Sonnet tech said that resetting the PRAM wouldn't affect it. What do you think?
