When you use iMovie the next time, remember to place your files on your new scratch partition, and when you need it the next time, remember to erase it completely so that it is clean and optimized.
I have purchased a 250GB external firewire drive to use exclusively with iMovie (and/or Final Cut Express?) DV files -- I want to import the video from the camera to this HD and to save the projects on it -- in such a way that my startup drive would be used only for running the application(s). Should I make a scratch partition on the external drive to use as indicated above? If so, how large should it be?
