If it's any consolation I get the crummy drop shadows with filenames on
this G3 iBook running 10.3.3. Here it looks like the shadow has fallen
off and there's a duplicate shadow just beneath the original one
(hmm...not a great description but the best I can come up with). I don't
tend to notice it because the effect is so slight - I have 26 icons on
the desktop at the moment and a quick check shows that 4 of them have
this strange affect. Moving the icon clears up the problem but at some
stage it returns.
