I probably missed any earlier postings, but at this stage I think the diagnosis would go that the problem is either (i) on your hard drive or (ii) in the hardware of your computer somewhere. In the old days, when it was easier to dismantle Macs and swap components, I would suggest that you take your hard drive and put it into someone else's comparable iMac. If the clock problem goes with the hard drive to the new iMac, the problem's on the hard drive. If it doesn't, and especially if you put someone else's hard drive into your iMac and the problem persists, the problem is in the hardware of your computer.

Unfortunately, I don't know how practical this advice is for you.

In the absence of finding any documentation on this problem on the Apple Support site, I would say it might be time to call Apple or, if your iMac is no longer under AppleCare, take it to a service outlet.
