Are you sure you aren't talking about allocating memory? I don't know how
to change anything in a pdf file without Adobe Acrobat full version, but a
jpg file size changes by either the resolution, the actual image
dimensions, or deleting a chunk of it. All of which are done in an image
editing program.

Oh yeah, you can also put the file on a different hard drive that has
smaller sized sectors....but I don't think that's what you were looking
for in a response :)
