I have a Graphite iMac here that I'm trying to help a friend with....he was having the date reset problem but didn't replace the battery. One night the computer shut itself off. So, he finally replaces the battery. After the battery replacement, he cannot get the machine to boot up and stay for longer than about a minute....it'll even go to the desktop but immediately comes up "Battery level is dangerously low and the computer will now shutdown to protect your data" and then does.

He said he tried the CUDA switch and all....no luck...same message, same trouble. I'm afraid he may have pushed that CUDA switch too many times.

The most recent scenario I tried was to remove the new battery, removed the RAM...let it set for about 30 minutes.....reinstalled battery, RAM, pressed CUDA switch for 5 seconds, plugged it in, booted....same trouble....comes up with same message about low battery level.

I'm stumped...any ideas/suggestions?
