Just a note to tell everyone I replaced the HD in my FP last week. Its an original 700MHz 15inch imac. Things are a bit tight in there but it was really pretty easy in the end, Ive heard in the past that its very difficult and should only be done by apple service engineers. I followed the instructions from

and really had no hassles. Was amazed at the amount of dust in there though!
I picked up a 160GB 7200rpm western digital drive and an external enclosure, used Carbon Copy Cloner to transfer my existing nearly full drive, checked that it worked ok, got some thermal paste and torx drivers and in I went! No quite as easy as a normal computer(last time I did this was on an LC575), but if you're handy with a screwdrive I say leap in.
The new drive seems faster, makes a little more noise(or maybe just a different noise), and its great to have all my holiday snaps back on my hard drive, instead of having to retrieve them off CD all the time.
this was the second time Ive been inside(not counting airport and memory). I pulled the screen apart to disconnect the pulsing white LED too(keeping me awake, bright little sucker).
