This has happened before and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what I may be doing wrong?
I create a book in Iphoto, but want to work on it some more before I place the order with Apple. So, I close the application and come back to the book later- but the photos are not the same and not in the right order. This happens, even though I take care to "lock" each page.
This week, I worked on creating a book from an album and saved it as a PDF file to view.
Today when I chose the book again from the album - it was changed. I verified this by comparing to the PDF file.
Can you not save a "book" you've assembled to work on it later?

Indecision may or may not be my problem...
