You're right, Larry. You USED to be able to control that, I believe, but now it's just "when possible."
I believe it is included in the "Put computer to sleep" setting, with the ADDITIONAL "when possible" setting for those times when what you are working on doesn't require hard disk access. Such as when you load that solitaire game into your 2 GB of RAM.
